Award Challenge 6, "Elite Minds", was a
simple 40 question timed quiz, and we were able to use
books and the MacGuild website to look for the answers. The
questions were in some cases worded to trick the hasty
reader and since we were all under time pressure nobody got
full marks. John got the most points, Mark and I got next
most but Mark was far quicker so came second. Guru Jim got
fewest points. Interestingly when the contest was opened up
to the whole MacGuild membership, nobody did any better
than the 4 Cybernauts.

The most recently completed challenge, the
"Elite Minds" Award Challenge was a quiz on Macology. It
covered various technical and trivia topics about Macs and
the MacGuild. Forty questions worth 5 points each and minus
1 point for wrong answers. High score wins, but questions
are timed and lowest time is a tie breaker. I missed the
start of the quiz on Monday afternoon, January 2nd and
discovered it on Tuesday after returning to work. Jim had
already completed all of the questions and that meant we
had until Tuesday night to finish the quiz. I started to
work on the questions between e-mails and other work tasks.
Bill included some pretty "crafty" questions and I felt the
need to do some verification before answer a number of the
questions. In process I challenged the answers to 2
questions and Bill that my answers were correct. I achieved
a score of 176 points, missing 4 questions. This was enough
to take the lead and hold it through the end of the quiz.
